“Sleep. Train. Eat. Repeat.”
It’s as simple as that.
If you train hard, eat well, recover and repeat this countless of times, then you are on the right path.
Well, this is just some ancient bodybuilding wisdom.
It appears, that there is no magic recipe siłownia or secret back door in bodybuilding, and this is exactly why this sport is so demanding.
It’s not primarily about the weights, neither the reps nor the sets – it’s about the mind:
The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact you can do something, you can do it, as you really believe 100 percent.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger
The body is important, but the mind is more important. Your mind drags you into the gym. Your mind makes you perform the last ten push-ups. Your mind makes you run the last two miles. It’s the mind that builds your body.
It’s crucial to take your mind into the equation of siłownia working out: your body will feel pain, side stitches are not very pleasant, you will be close to your physical limits – however the mind on the contrary is only limited by its beliefs – your own beliefs.
If you are convinced to finish your workout, you will forget the physical pain, you will overcome your pain barrier and you will do it.
Struggle makes you different from others.
You will be the one who decides to step up, have the guts and go through the struggle. Finally it is strength and growth who only come through effort and struggle, as Napoleon Hill realized and explained in his book Think And Grow Rich.
Struggle builds you, strengthens you, makes you realize who you are, what you want, where you want to be – struggle defines you.
Every workout brings me one step closer to my goal – and guess what? The resistance I fight every evening in the gym, won’t only bring me one step closer to my goal, it will also build a stronger character, as every other resistance I fight in life.
Every challenge I face today, will put me in a siłownia better position to master the challenges of tomorrow.
And this is why I want you to start running: you don’t have to lift weights or become a bodybuilder to share and live that mental approach.
It’s about creating an environment that challenges you.
It can be lifting weights, it can be running, but it can also be writing articles.
Bodybuilding is like any other challenging activity: full dedication is the key to success.
When you’re running and that voice in your head starts saying to you, “slow down, your ankles are hurting.”
It tries to get you to stop. But that’s when you keep on running and breakthrough.
When you learn to defeat that person inside that tries to get you to stop, you can defeat anything that stands in front of you. Anything that’s blocking your way toward your true purpose, destination and goal.” (Will Smith on The Key To Life)
This rule applies to everything in life: there’s a problem, that we have to fix. There’s a challenge we have to face. Either we run away or we confront it.
Your mind is your most powerful weapon – if you approach a challenge with the proper mental attitude, you will win.
Lifting weights and running are my self-made challenging environments – what are yours?
